The 2021 BMW 5 Series sports a new exterior design that is sure to capture attention no matter where you take it. This new design blends modern touches with more retro shapes and angles to present a completely new approach to the 5 Series aura.
As you might expect, the most notable changes are seen at the front of the new BMW model, starting with the iconic kidney grilles. They take on a more squarish shape than in previous models, and the chrome trim is certainly an homage to the legendary BMW 5 Series models of old. Meanwhile, the headlights ditch the classic round shape to give you a modern, sleek, and aggressive feel. The narrowed housings now feature a pair of L-shaped LED strips that run along the bottom before kicking upward. This design is a departure from the halo-style lights of old, and sets the 2021 5 Series on a course toward the future.
The character lines on the sides of the new BMW 5 Series take on a new look as well. The initial crease starts just above and behind the front wheel arch, and angles upward, fading into the window line on the back door. Meanwhile, a soft contour becomes a sharp crease at the front door handle and reaches back to the tail lights, and the resulting 3D-effect of this pair of lines creates a stunning effect under the city lights.
